Any time you’re considering a renovation, you need to start with a solid plan. And part of that plan is making sure that your plan adheres to local bylaws, rules, and regulations. Sometimes, that means talking to your local planning department.
Consider the space – and maximize it
Once you’ve got your team assembled and any permits secured, consider your space. What’s it going to be used for? Will it be a children’s playroom or your home office? Or will it be a master suite with lounge area?
Also, keep in mind any height issues. For example, those of us who are vertically challenged may have more options than our towering 6’4” tall friends do.
